Day 26

Good evening on day 26! I'm sitting in Alex's room right now, with absolutely abhorrent posture. I remind myself of a shrimp once its been cooked -- curled like a contortionist. Kind of like them:

Anyway, I got up this morning and made my lunch in the cookhouse, then set up the hill to work. The sun was out all day today, however it was really quite windy. I managed to get cold in the office today, so I took my work outside on the deck of the workshop out back. It was nice to sit in the sun, but my computer screen got very hot. Worried for my laptop's health, I went back inside after an hour. I then went on my 1pm Wildlands walk with three people. One woman had many questions, which I appreciated but didn't have all the answers to. The view at Whitehead was really gorgeous today, thanks to the clear skies. I would show you all a picture, but I didn't take one. Instead, I took 5 photos of a spider I saw. It wasn't even that remarkable. Here, I'll show you:

I hope you're super impressed. I'm sure this is the kind of content you hope for every day on Monhegan Musings. I had lunch, and then went on my 3:30pm walk, joined by the couple that came on my 1pm! They really enjoyed it, and even offered to write me a recommendation letter if I ever needed it to prove that the walks were enjoyed by an unbiased party. A very thoughtful gesture! The walks today certainly rekindled my pleasure with the programming I'm providing, as I was worried maybe it wasn't doing too well after some days last week with no interest. Here's a photo I took from the hill before the 3:30 walk:

After the walk, I went to trash with Alex. We didn't stay for long at all, because there was more to be done back at the Yew! Today was Miki's 80th birthday, she lives on the island. The Yew catered her birthday party, so I helped load up the truck and bring the goodies over to her house. It's an absolutely gorgeous house on the water near the wharf, with a beautiful Dutch-Gabled roof. We set up the catering, then drove back to the Yew.

Shortly, it was time for a dinner of our own, which was a taco bar. It's hard to complain with a taco bar, and I didn't. We cleaned up, I took a shower, and then hung out with Alex, Jess, and Amelia. We listened to some music, played Alex's word game, and ate some microwaved chocolate chocolate-chip muffins. Now, I'm ready for bed. Here's tonight's late sunset, a treat after the clear day we had:

Love, Me
