Day 33
Good evening on the foggy and hazy night of day 33. I didn't realize just quite how much of my energy my trip inshore used up until I tried to get out of bed this morning. It was certainly the hardest it has been to wake up since I've been here. Nevertheless, I got up and made my lunch then headed up the hill. It was foggy this morning, but around noon it lifted and the sun came out. I got a little cold in the office, so I took a quick break to look out at the harbor and over to Manana:
Then, it was time to take folks out for a walk. Thankfully the fog had lifted just enough for us to be able to see Black Head. Back at the museum, I ate my lunch (sweet potato gnocchi with sage walnut pesto) and did some more work.
Once I got back to the Yew, I hopped in the truck with Alex, Jess, and Abigail to go down and pick up some guests on the ferry. We drove back up and I decided to stay home and take a nap instead of going to trash. I'm glad I did, because I think I might've just fallen asleep in the truck bed at trash if I went anyway.
Then, it was time for dinner. Marian made mac & cheese with roasted carrots, which was exactly what I was in the mood for after my nap. A dog named Bailey joined us, who Jorgie was dog sitting for a guest. Jorgie ended up teaching Bailey some tricks including 'down' and even 'paw'! By this time, the fog had come back and completely obscured Manana. Here's a photo from the porch:
Then, I took a shower and have decided to call it an earlier night. More tomorrow!
Love, Me
