Day 38

It's the end of Day 38, and it was a pretty restful day off. I woke up and had a muffin, then decided to head down to the boat with Alex. The tide was very low, and the harbor was flat as glass:

We drove back with some guests' bags, then I put in my laundry. I cleaned my room, then hung up my clothes outside on the line to dry in the sun. It was another gorgeously sunny day, so they dried pretty fast. Alex mentioned to me that he had been asked to help someone move some furniture around at their house and that he could bring someone to help, so I walked up Horns Hill with him. We moved a few desks, chairs, shelves, and a bed before building a new bed frame and installing it in a bedroom. We were compensated handsomely, but I was mostly just pleased that I was able to see the interior of another Island home.

It was then time to meet another boat, so I tagged along again. Afterwards, I folded my laundry and rested in my room. I really wanted to do something creative today; I have been looking forward to writing or drawing all week, but today I just didn't have the motivation to do so. Jorgie reminded me that some days off need to be exclusively to rest -- it's been a busy week socially.

We ate dinner out on the porch -- sweet potatoes, chicken, and carrots prepared by Olivia and Jorgie. After dinner, a few of us met behind the dorms and played some cards (first Rummy, then BS). The bugs showed up, and the sun left, so we went inside and played some more Rummy, and then Prez. Before we knew it, it had gotten late, and I wrapped up my night with some tea.

Today I listened to a lot of music: mostly albums all the way through. I love to listen to albums top to bottom, because that is how they're meant to be heard! Now, with playlists that sample songs from all over, it is always interesting to come back to an album and listen to it. Here's some of the albums I listened to today in full:
  • 25, Adele
  • Photogénique, Pomplamoose
  • Moisturizer, Wet Leg
  • Adventures in Paradise, Minnie Riperton
  • Nonesuch River, Chico States

And here's a photo from the Yew this afternoon:

Love, Me
